Three Reasons Why Cash Is King And Not The Credit Card

In a world where one can travel halfway around the world in less than a day, one might care to think that perhaps our mode of payment would also be a lot more modern. Although we have come to know and love the advent of checks, debit cards, and credit cards; one thing still reigns supreme in the hearts and minds of the millions of people who comprise the working class of America and the rest of the world, cash. Rappers sing about it and people dream about making more of it through the course of their lives. Cash, without a doubt, is king. Nobody can doubt its appeal to everybody.

1. Paper money definitely has more appeal.

It's kind of like asking a general whether you want to have a tank or a buggy in your arsenal when the time for war comes. Cash certainly packs a bigger punch than its distant plastic cousin. Perhaps this is because cash is more visible and more obvious for someone to seem well off. You can't exactly tell by the way a credit card looks on how wealthy a person is. Sure some may have platinum cards and all, but at the end of the day it isn't any more than just a piece of plastic with some magnetic tape on it's back.

2. Cash, can be used more often than credit cards.

Not every single store in America or in any part of the world accepts credit cards. It's quite embarrassing to be caught in a store that only accepts cash only for you to find out that you have nothing else but a credit card on you. Especially when you're out on a date, it's a good idea to have some cash on the side in case things don't go according to plan. ATM cards isn't the answer all the time as well. You might be in an instance where the place you're going to wouldn't have an ATM machine nearby for a couple of miles.

3. If you're a parent, cash is quite handy when your kids are asking for some spending money.

Have you ever seen the movie “The Weather Man” starring Nicholas Cage? There happens to be two scenes in there where Nicholas' character was asked to pay for something in cash. All he had in his wallet was just a dollar. He wasn't able to buy whatever it was that his daughter wanted to buy. Now that's not a situation you'd want to get stuck in.

It doesn't just happen in the movies if that's what you're asking. People usually depend on credit cards too much that they sometimes fail to bring some cash along with them. If you have little ones running around depending on you for whatever amount of money that they might want to ask for, you certainly need to have more than just a dollar stashed in your wallet. Try diversifying on an assortment of bills if you could. Being prepared is always a lot better. Better to be safe than sorry right?
